What is LINK?
LINK stands for Leading Internships for New Knowledge. Over the course of three weeks, students dive into the real world and their perspective career paths. Each student has one or more LINK Mentors, whom lead them through the field their internship pertains to. Mentors introduce students to the industry, different paths within it that they could follow. They also offer their experience and expertise. During this time, students work on projects an soak it all in. This experience creates unique opportunities for youth as well as leading them to ultimately decide how they feel about the career or educational path which initially peaked their interest. |
Lil' Pam's Salon
My link internship took place at Lil Pam’s, a local hair salon located in the heart of downtown Durango. The salon has been running now for only a few months, but the owner and sole stylist, Janelle McCallum, has 14 years of experience under her belt. She offers full salon services and is always open to new concepts and personal input from the client. Lil Pam’s offers a relaxing, professional, and modern atmosphere for all clients. Only the highest quality of work and respect is offered here. |
