Animas high school really seems to prepare students and allows them to make their own choices regarding their future. I really enjoy challenging myself whenever I can and when I feel it’s needed. It’s nice to get away from the traditional school methods. Worksheets and textbooks can be nice and all, but it’s pretty cool to know that there will be a hands on, creative project to work on soon. Everyone in this environment, concluded through personal experiences, is very accepting of one another. People don’t get put down for having differences. These differences are embraced by teachers and students alike, we all think it’s great to be yourself. There are also very positive student/teacher relationships at this school, which is wonderful. I believe that Teacher/Student relationships are very important and helpful in a school setting. When a teacher can be open to discussing with and talking to their students on a personal level, I think it’s an amazing thing. I’ve been really excited to go here since my brother started three years ago. I’ve always enjoyed school and I wasn’t and am still not planning on breaking that cycle. This supports why I chose this school over the others in this area. And thankfully my family supported me.
